The Tiger in us

This is a moment of human moral inventory for many of us who are drawn into this inspection of Tiger Woods life and how it reflects on our lives as Us.

Can we see the best with the worst - right now . . ! ?

Tiger is an addict.

No easy way to say that.

We, through “The Media”only, know Tiger Woods to be a good person, possibly with only a moral disease . . but this appears to be an opportunity, in our culture, to address addictions now . . .and the real story; where the real havoc gets created in life, in Tiger Woods life, in all of our lives, in the lives of so many others with “unacceptable behavior”.

This is a moral issue for all of us; the human adult subject of morality; is not finished . . . not at all.

We have just begun . . .truly

I disagree with protecting Tiger in any way: We must observe real honesty.

Tiger is very, very wrong in his behavior - he needs to continue to clean this up as soon as possible and address his mental/emotional dis-ease professionally in order to break the spell of the illusion ALL OF US HAVE of one form of “mental illness” ... the separateness that all unaddressed addictions create in our semi-conscious, yet maturing, adult 21st century culture.

On the contrary; we should slam Tiger Woods with every demand to be accountable, to take his brilliance for focus into the world of addiction; be there, feel life there, and begin to confess his experiences while making amends to Us all.

Tiger Woods owes us a deep and profound inspection of his life, a radical change in his intimate behavior; to demonstrate he understands the severity of his moral actions as unacceptable for public consumption or for the respect he has earned playing a game; we all have revered as a game of gentlemen.

Will Tiger Woods EVER be accepted as a trusted professional golfer and spokesperson again?

Seems absurd to infer we would NEVER witness Tiger Woods play professional golf at that consistently demonstrated premier level of performance earning him acceptance and admiration and . . .trust – but is it really?

Who is Tiger Woods now?

Is he a golf icon . . . or a 21st century adult human icon?

The icon of trusted perfection in professional golf WAS Tiger Woods – he embodied everything we projected onto any man, woman or prodigy.

He gave us exactly what we yearned for . . . a true champion demonstrating the highest quality of disciplines to his art; showing consistent dedication to excellence of performance while demonstrating world acclaimed accomplishments . . . in the world of golf.

That is and will always be a PAST TENSE expression . . . those days are gone for us and all who honor the professionalism that is golf . . . for now.

We wait . . . we wait for him to come back to us . . .we wait for him to begin (or not) to discover and recover of his own Morality . . . we wait for him to discover (or not) what happened . . .to and by him . . . we wait for him to show us what he has now learned (or not) about the life of un-inspected addictions. . . of his own tendencies to just be human . . . we wait for him to demonstrate we know he and we have faults . . . egregious faults . . . most egregious faults – OUR most egregious faults. . . our globally adult and very human mea maxima culpa.

We will not preclude Tiger Woods from playing professional golf . . .

BUT if Tiger Woods, the man, does not answer this call for profound accountability . . . if Tiger Woods is so Morally unconscious as to what he means to all of us. . . what his behavior NOW means to All of us . . . including OUR children . . . well . . . yes it will be true . . . Tiger Woods will never be seen as a trusted adult or professional golfer again; and we will declare "Tiger Woods is dead" . . . and the world of golf . . . and the world of human trust will never be the same . . . and . . .our children will mourn.

Now; these days of patience: Tiger Woods is showing up . . . is beginning to take personal responsibility for his behavior.

Tiger is beginning . . . to demonstrate he understands addictions and the full complement of insights with the emotional baggage he is uncovering to personally work on; the depth of feelings that generated his past behavior; when those feelings were semi-conscious feelings - as he said “he felt privileged and he had the right”.

Tiger remembers who he is. He remembers his Buddhist roots.

Tiger knows he is not any special man; with an addiction: but Yet he represents to US . . . has now uncovered as US . . .a true 21st century moral human being in dilemma, one who is waking up to the agony of being human erred with the glory of life and all the privileges of loving and being loved.

Tiger sees his past as a great lesson – a lesson of will and a lesson of results, good and bad; a time he and we will never forget.

Tiger is on the watch list: he will be scrutinized more than any modern man has been or ever will ever be, now or before in our history; more than any presidents, more than any hero We personally have ever known – why? Because; WE witnessed in Tiger Woods and elevated Tiger Woods to the highest levels of human respect . . .and trust . . . unheard of before in human history . . . on a global international level . . . which he discarded; recklessly; removing himself and us from the illusions for conscious accountability and moral impeccability naturally given to US . . . as a endemic human trait.

Tiger now realizes he is just one of us: as the maturing person of himself, who has sinned - who has failed - who has lied - who has cheated - most importantly one who knows he is flawed; is standing up to take FULL responsibility for his actions; in front of all of US.

And WE are watching . . !

Tiger now begins to take US ALL on this journey – a very personal journey; a journey for all time in our lives; the journey of the maturing and awaking our humanness to OUR OWN moral nature of good.

We are hopeful; many of us moved deeply from personal empathy feeling Tiger’s initial courage and steadfastness; his insightful comments - emotionally tendered statements into and AS THAT: which is just about US; being semi-conscious moral human Beings.

Yes Tiger ! - you made some poor choices; you did so because all of us adult culture is now just growing up together - we do not have a Global Moral Standard to live by.

You are not exclusively at fault - this is Our World, Our Morals, Our Time to begin making more conscious choices together; by knowing and honoring when others who trust us truly depend us to be honest, open and willing to be vulnerable and real.

You can make a tremendous difference in our world of Morality and Honesty Tiger - we need to begin to know our lives are intertwined on ALL ISSUES - we see and need each other to develop our 21st century adult culture - together.

You can and will influence the moral destiny of our entire world adult culture . . .

You know this is not a mistake - this is your greatest challenge; to look, feel and discriminate where you will lead us on this journey. We need for you to feel through this . . .profoundly. I know you will see what is next for you and for us.

I will not forget what you did . . . and I absolutely forgive you Tiger.

*
Now, slowly, as it should, the mirror turns to each and every one of us to observer the Tiger in us.

Our reflection must be looked at. We, each, must now look into this mirror of our own past and ask ourselves - each and every one of us: “Do I have confessions to make – do I have wrongs I must right; do I have amends I must make; and am I capable of owning my actions with all of my behaviors to the point of being willing to lose everything I own if . . . WE TELL THE TRUTH - right now - - - are we willing?

Are we ready to be personally held accountable for ALL OF OUR behaviors like Tiger is?

Are we ready, as an adult, who is flawed, to stand with Tiger and inspect our direct and indirect communications we have been making?

We will see.

One thing for sure, we will witness Tiger Woods change his whole life . . . in front of us; we will witness Tiger Woods take us through the process of moral discovery . . . .and moral recovery.

And what we are doing here IS the process of moral discovery if we listen real carefully; we will find our own experience of the global international personal morality . . . and we will understand how to access trust again – for trust is only give once for free – after that it must be earned.

Pay attention: this is OUR life here: – OUR adult moral life is a fore us in the life and person of Tiger Woods.

This cultural issue of morality is no longer about Tiger Woods and his morality - it is about each and every one of us as adults . . .and each of our own connection to the global international morality . . . starting at home!

So: now what will we do . . . what will each of us do with the Tiger in us?
